Seasonal Care
Summer (2024) Update on new Brunswick Sewer District policies regarding water use
On February 15, 2024, the Brunswick Sewer District (BSD) Board of Trustees adopted a new Sewer Use Billing Adjustment Policy. As of January 1, 2025, those seeking credit for water not entering the public sewer system will be required to utilize a submeter. A submeter is a secondary meter that is located downstream from your household or Water District meter. It records water that is used but doesn’t enter the sewer system for processing. That meter reading is subtracted from your household or Water District meter reading to provide the water quantity for sewer bills. For more information regarding the new Sewer Use Billing Adjustment Policy, visit: www.brunswicksewer.org
Here is some information regarding currently approved meters. (This is also applicable for those who choose to have a submeter in place for the 2024 watering season.) Per District policy (www.brunswicksewer.org), submeters need to read in cubic feet, NOT gallons. The BSD must approve of any submeter prior to granting an abatement. For specific questions regarding meters not on this list, please contact the District. Here are the currently BSD approved cubic foot submeters:

After purchasing a submeter, the BSD needs to be notified immediately to get proper credit prior to billing. If you have a submeter that is plumbed into your domestic water line, we require an on-site inspection which takes about 5 minutes. If you purchase a “manual” outside one, please email a clear picture of the whole meter’s face, including the serial number along the rim, to ddutton@brunswicksewer.org. Per policy, you are required to let us know what the quarterly reading is for proper credit. The dates to provide readings (pictures) are the 1st of: May, August and November (or when you finished watering for the season).
This policy change was needed to ensure ALL of BSD ratepayers are treated in a fair and equitable manner.

Fall Update II (October 18, 2023)
Sump Pumps:
Please check to make sure your sump pumps are working, they are unit owner responsibility. Sump Pumps last and average of 10 years and should be checked yearly. Any plumber can check or install a new sump pump. If you live in a duplex or quad your basement effects your connecting neighbors basements as well. Please let your neighbors know if you have water in your basement.
If you have water in your basement contact a plumber immediately to check on your sump pump.
If you have a finished off basement and water damage, please contact a HPM immediately. We also will need to contact ServPro: 207-613-0012
The amount of rainfall we have received this summer and fall has the water table very high throughout the area. Working sump pumps are the only thing keeping many of the basements dry.
Winter Care Reminders
1. Power Outages: please check with CMP. You can sign up for all sorts of outage alert options through the CMP Web site: CMP Web Site Link
You can sign up for outage alert options through the CMP Web site or call them at : 800.696.1000.
Download the Android or Apple iOS app for quicker access through your mobile phone or tablet.
2. Keep porches and walkways free from any patio furniture and or decorations. We understand you all are wanting to be festive for the season, but with these items and with snow cover Willie C & Son will have a hard time knowing or seeing them. Willie C and Sons won't be responsible for any of these items getting damaged.
3. Please garage ALL vehicles this winter and especially during storms and move the vehicles while being plowed. Residents may park extra cars on Botany Place Way while
Willie C & Son is plowing their driveways.
Please remember to not park on the side streets, preventing unit owners from exiting their own driveways will trigger BP COA towing procedures.
4. Unit owners are responsible for shoveling their Back Decks. BP COA does not provide this service and it is extremely important to prevent possible damage. Decks should be shoveled between 12 to 18 inches of snow accumulation.
5. Please wear your grippers and walk like a duck. We live in Maine and many of our storms come with icy conditions that even persists with the best of sand and ice melting products.
Winter Care Contract Service
The Town of Brunswick plows Botany Place Drive and its sidewalks.
Homeowner driveways and private roads are plowed by Willie C & Son Landscaping if:
Three inches of snow has fallen
At the end of a storm of less than three inches
Homeowner walks and steps are shoveled after the storm.
Homeowner driveways will be de-iced and sanded when there is ice.
At the end of the storms, pathways will be shoveled to allow access for refilling oil and propane tanks.
All gas meters and vents will be kept clear of snow as needed.
Sand only will be used on the walkway pavers. If it is absolutely necessary to use ice melt on
pavers that receive primarily northern exposure it is recommended that rock salt or ice melt
without magnesium be used.
Willie C & Son will roof rake when there is between 6"- 12 "of accumulation on roofs.
Residents should not expect to have their driveways plowed early in the morning if there is less than 3" and the storm has not ended. Willie C & Son Landscaping will try to make sure that driveways off Botany Place Drive are not plowed-in by the Town if the snow is still falling.
Willie C & Son will make every effort to deliver bare pavement after the storms, but
cannot guarantee dry pavement at all times.
During severe storms if the town calls for school closing or delays certain services may be
delayed due to hazardous conditions.
